Spanish Language Version Timed to Introduce “Designers of Distinction from Mexico” and New “SilverMark Manufacturer” Category Launch

(Washington, D.C. – November 3, 2010) The Silver Promotion Service (SPS), an arm of the Silver Institute, has announced a significant expansion of its Savor Silver website (www.savorsilver.com). The website highlights the jewelry of 20 ‘Designers of Distinction’ and their design philosophy, as well as information on maintenance and care of silver articles, and silver jewelry consumer news.

The enhanced site now includes a section highlighting ten highly regarded ‘Designers of Distinction’ from Mexico. Representative selections of their innovative designs and their design philosophy may now be seen on the site, and visitors have the option to view the content in Spanish.

The website also launches the newly designated ‘SilverMark Manufacturers’. Selected by the SPS program, the four inaugural and international participants are bastian from Germany, Gabriel from the United States, Metalsmith Sterling from Canada and Sun Jewels from India. To be designated, a ‘SilverMark Manufacturer’ must have a strong silver jewelry design culture, international distribution, and agree to the SPS’s annual terms and conditions regarding utilization of the SilverMark.

“We are very pleased with the continued expansion of our Silver Promotion Service program. The objective of the SPS is to develop and implement programs to enhance the image of and stimulate demand for silver jewelry in major markets. With the addition of the Mexican designers, the Spanish translation of the website, and the inclusion of ‘SilverMark Manufacturers’, the SPS is establishing itself as an important international promotional entity for silver,” stated Michael DiRienzo, Executive Director of the Silver Institute.

In commenting on the expansion of the Savor Silver site, Michael Barlerin, SPS Director said, “The SPS could not be happier about the way in which the online portion of the overall SPS program has developed. The most recent enhancements represent both the first step towards an expansion and refinement of the categories of jewelry featured and the increasingly international focus of the overall program.”

The Silver Institute is a nonprofit international industry association headquartered in Washington, D.C. Established in 1971, the Institute serves as the industry’s voice in increasing public understanding of the value and many uses of silver.
