Silver Institute Adds New Members

(Washington, D.C. – June 6, 2012)  The Silver Institute has welcomed four new members to its roster in the first five months of 2012, bringing the total membership to twenty-nine.   The new members are:

  • A-Mark Precious Metals, Inc. (Santa Monica, California) — A full service precious metals trading company offering a wide array of bullion products and services.
  • Alexco Resource Corp. (Vancouver, British Columbia) — Owner and operator of the Bellekeno silver mine, Canada’s only operating primary silver mine and one of the world’s highest-grade silver mines.
  • Republic Metals Corporation (Miami, Florida) — One of the largest, full service precious metal refineries in the Western Hemisphere.
  • Valcambi sa (Balerna, Switzerland) — A leader in precious metals refining that operates one of the world’s largest and most efficient integrated precious metal facilities.

“Interest in silver continues to grow globally and with that comes a desire to align with the only international association spearheading market development for silver,” stated Michael DiRienzo, Executive Director of the Silver Institute.  “We are delighted to have these distinguished companies on board and are grateful for the support from them and all of our member companies,” he added.

The Silver Institute’s membership includes leading silver mining companies, refiners, bullion suppliers, manufacturers of silver products, and wholesalers of silver investment products.  Established in 1971, the Institute serves as the industry’s voice in increasing public understanding of the many uses and values of silver.
