SAVE THE DATE -- Make Your Plans to Attend the 4th Annual China International Silver Conference
(Washington, D.C. - June 17, 2005) Planning is well underway for the 4th Annual China International Silver Conference, to be held in Lijiang, Yunnan Province, China, October 19-20. Those interested in attending the Conference should save the dates, and start making plans to attend this important event open to all silver market participants.
The Silver Institute and four key organizations from the Chinese silver industry will jointly host the 4th Annual China International Silver Conference. Other hosts include the China Chamber of Commerce of Metals, Minerals & Chemicals Importers & Exporters (CCCMC), the Gemological Association of China, the China General Chamber of Commerce, and the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association. This Conference offers a prime opportunity for building relations and keeping abreast with the latest developments in the increasingly important Chinese silver market--the world's sixth largest silver consuming country.
The theme of this year's Conference is, "Strengthening Global Cooperation and Promoting Development of the Chinese Silver Industry." The Conference will revolve around a number of key topics ranging from the current state of the Chinese silver market, silver mining in China, new silver technologies and applications, and global silver market trends. Conference delegates will include Chinese government officials, precious metal research institutions, domestic and overseas silver manufacturers, mining and refining companies, silver consumers, and others involved in the silver industry.
The Conference will be held at Guanfong Hotel in Lijiang. Conference registration will take place on October 18, and the program will begin that evening with a welcoming reception. The Conference program will be October 19-20, and October 21 is reserved for field trips, one of which is to the nearby silver villages, where Chinese artisans manufacture silver jewelry and silver artifacts for sale to the public. Lijiang is accessible by air from Beijing and Shanghai.
Conference program and hotel information, as well as online registration materials, will be available in the very near future.
The Silver Institute is a nonprofit international industry association headquartered in Washington, D.C. Established in 1971, the Institute serves as the industry's voice in increasing public understanding of the value and many uses of silver.
